RICHMOND, Va (WTVR) - The owner of the Cash for Gold store in South Richmond was shot in the leg during a Wednesday evening robbery. It is at least the second store shooting in that area over the last few days. Police are still investigating the deadly shooting of a worker in the parking lot of Family Dollar ten blocks away.

Family members of Wednesday's shooting victim, Marvin Polsten, told CBS 6 Polsten has run multiple businesses from this location for the past 40 years: first a car dealership, and now a Cash for Gold store.

Police said men with guns stormed into the business Wednesday around 6:00 p.m. When Polsten ran out, sources told CBS 6 he was shot in the leg. Polsten was rushed to VCU Medical Center with non life-threatening injuries.

"I hope the guy next door will be OK," said Lonnie Jeter, who lives next door.

Neighbors blame the "younger generation" for the neighborhood recent violence.

"These young people out here, man, all they do is run these streets selling drugs,” said Jeter.  “I see them all day and everyday on the corner.  No jobs, no education."

A truck with a bullet hole was towed away and sources told CBS 6 suspects matching the description were detained. One apparently got a little squirrely and several sources told CBS 6 police used a Taser on him. Police have not made any arrest thus far.
