Richmond (WTVR) – A community wide fundraising event kicked off Thursday afternoon, to help “put the squeeze” on childhood cancer in Virginia.

Kids who have received cancer treatments and care at the Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU will participate in a fundraiser that will help other kids and give back to the hospital.

A number of lemonade stands have been set up around the area through Sunday to benefit oncology and hemotology services at the hospital.

A 15-year-old cancer survivor and a 10-year-old cerebral palsy patient set their stand up at the shops at Willow Lawn.

You’ll be able to spot the stands by the signs that read “Anthem LemonAid.”

Also, participants can set up and customize their own virtual Online LemonAid Stand to collect donations online. Just click here for more info.

In the fundraiser’s 11 year history it has raised nearly three quarters of a million dollars for the oncology and hematology clinic at the Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU.
