RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) – Investigators have released the identity of a man found shot in South Richmond Tuesday evening.

Richmond police were called to the 4600 block of Southwood Parkway after 911 calls reporting gunfire, police spokesperson Gene Lepley confirmed.

Officers found 24-year-old Marcus J. Williams, of Chesterfield, shot inside a vehicle around 6 p.m. He died at the scene.

Investigators said Tuesday they do not believe this crime was a random act, and that robbery may have been the motive.

If you have information that could help police, call Crime Stoppers at 804-780-1000.
