Army IDs soldier found dead in Fort Lee barracks

FORT LEE, Va. (WTVR) – The Army identified the soldier found dead inside his Fort Lee barracks room as Pvt. David E. Vines, 21, of Beaumont, Texas. Investigators are still working to determine how Vines died. At this point in the investigation foul play is not suspected, according to an email from Stephen Baker with the Fort Lee Public Affairs Office.

Vines was found dead in his room Monday morning.

According to the email, Vines joined the Army in June 2011. He was a  petroleum supply specialist with the 54th Quartermaster Company, 530th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, 49th Quartermaster Group.
