RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR)--Michael Vick appeared on CNN Tuesday night, and in the interview said he deserves to adopt dogs for his children now that the court-ordered three year ban prohibiting Vick dog ownership will soon expire.

In a nationally known case, Vick was sent to prison for his part in a dog fighting ring. Vick hanged and drowned dogs at his Bad Newz Kennels.

Since his release from prison, Vick has lectured about the pitfalls and harm dog fighting inflicts.

Tonya Irizarry with Ring Dog Rescue said Vick has said all the right things. But after committing such heinous acts she asked how can Vick be trusted?

“I don’t think he is necessarily sorry for taking those dogs lives,” Irizarry said. “He actively participated in the killing of the dogs who did not perform therefore I think it is a life sentence where he never be allowed to own another animal.”

But those on the other side of the fence said Vick committed the crime and has done the time.
