Lightning sparks house fire, takes 2.5 hours to extinguish

HANOVER, Va. (WTVR)—Around 5:00 p.m. Hanover Fire Department responded to a fire in the 6200 block of Westhaven Drive that started from lightning.

Batt. Chief William Jones with Hanover Fire said that the blaze took two and a half hours to extinguish.

Three adults reside in the house, but were not home at the time. Jones said that three baby cats were rescued.

The fire was on the first and second floor.
