Virginia National Guard soldiers return home from Afghanistan

FORT BELVOIR, Va. (WTVR) – About 30 Virginia National Guard Soldiers in the 29th Infantry Division returned home on Saturday after serving in Afghanistan since November 2011.

The soldiers returned to their demobilization station at Camp Shelby, Miss. on July 7, where they went though health screenings before they could return home from active duty.

About 35 Soldiers from the Maryland National Guard also took part in the mission.  

According to the Virginia National Guard Public Affairs Office, a formal ceremony will take place in 90 days.
