Richmond, Va  (WTVR)  –   The ongoing search for a missing woman last seen in the Outer Banks of North Carolina July 4th now has a Richmond connection.

Police are on a manhunt for her boyfriend, the last person who may have seen 33-year old Lynn Jackenheimer of Ashland, Ohio.

Our sister station WTKR in Virginia Beach is reporting that a vacation to the outer banks was meant to mend broken bridges between Jackenheimer and her boyfriend, 27-year old Nate Summerfield.  When he got back to Ohio, Jackenheimer’s two kids were with him, but she was not.

Summerfield is nowhere to be found, but police believe that on his drive back from the Outer Banks to Ohio, he spent the night at a hotel in Richmond. Jackenheimer and her two kids went on vacation in Salvo, North Carolina with Summerfield July 3rd, despite his violent past.  In 2009 Jackenheimer filed a restraining order against him.  Court records show Summerfield choked her, pinning her to a table and dragging her through the house by her neck.

Investigators say five days after her two children last saw their mother, Summerfield came back from the Outer Banks and dropped them off with relatives in Ashland, Ohio.  He withdrew money from an ATM, ditched his cell phone and skipped town.

“He made certain statements to the relative that he had done something to her and that he had needed to get out of here”, says Ashland County sheriff’s Capt. Carl Richert.  That evidence is apparently enough to call Summerfield a “person of interest” in Lynn Jackenheimer’s disappearance, but there’s also a condemning 911 call from his brother.

“I wanted to report a possible murder”, Summerfield’s brother told the 911 operator.  “My brother was in North Carolina with his ex girlfriend.  He came back and said he strangled her.”

CBS 6 News talked with the Ashland, Ohio Sheriff’s Office this morning.  They are not releasing information about which hotel Summerfield stayed in here in Richmond, not yet anyway.  However, we do know he was last seen driving a 2009 gray Honda Civic with Ohio plates, tag number FMV-7540.

We also talked with both the Virginia State Police and the Richmond Police Department.  Neither has been asked by authorities in Ohio to join the investigation at this time.
