RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) – Check out this week’s Free Stuff  I found for you and check back often, I’m  always adding new listings.

FREE SLURPEES:  Weds. July 11 is 7-Eleven Day.  Stop by for a free Slurpee until 7p.m.

FREE STARBUCKS:    On Friday, the 13th, from noon to 3 p.m. stop by Starbucks for a free 12oz. “Refresher”;  their new fruit and green coffee beverage. No purchase necessary.

FREE CHICK FIL-A:  the 17th annual Chick Fil-A Cow Appreciation day is Friday, July 13.  Stop by dressed as a cow and get a free meal. Partial costumes will receive a free entrée. Details [HERE].

FREE ADMISSION :    TheHanover Tomato Festival , is  Saturday, July 14th, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Pole Green Park, 8996 Pole Green Park Lane, Mechanicsville.  Tomatoes and all types of foods made with tomatoes, live entertainment and family fun.

FREE JAM SESSION:     Bring your acoustic instrument and jam at the free Bluegrass Coffeehouse, Thurs. July 12 from 6:30-9pm at Dorey Recreation Center, 7200 Dorey Park Dr.,  in Henrico.  For all ages and abilities.   Participants under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. FREE PERFORMANCE:  TheElegba Folklore Society, Thursday, July 12 at Dogwood Dell at 8:30 p.m..  Enjoy a pre-show concert by Ban Caribe at 7 p.m. at the Byrd Park Carillon in Richmond.

FREE ADMISSION:     With Free admission and two dozen acts,  the 3rd annual Gospel Music Fest is Sunday July 15 at 5p.m. at Dogwood Dell. There’s a free Youth Gospel/Hip Hop pre-show at 4 p.m.  Event details [HERE].

FREE CONCERT:  Susan Greenbaum is the featured performer at the next“Jammin’ On the James”event at Wilton House. Sat. July 14 6 p.m. to 8 p.m   Bring a picnic dinner and  lawn chair for the concert  on their grass terrace overlooking the James River. Enjoy walk-through tours of Wilton,  215 South Wilton Road  Richmond.  Children will be entertained by face-painting, and games.

FREE CONCERT:     Enjoy a free concert featuring the big band sounds of“The Continentals” on Tuesday July 17th at Hermitage High School , 8301 Hungary Spring Road. Sponsored by Henrico Parks and Rec, the program begins at 7 p.m.

FREE ADMISSION:    Birthday celebration, Maggie L. Walker. Sat. July 14,  noon to 4 p.m. at the National Historic Site in Richmond’s Jackson ward.  There will be tours of the historic house and neighborhood, live music, and  children’s activities on site. 600 N. 2nd Street.

FREE CAR WASH: The Flagstop in Chester is offering free car washes on Sat. July 14 from 8 a.m to 6 p.m.  The deal is good ONLY at the location at 11031 Iron Bridge Rd.

FREE FAMILY EVENT:  It’s an Old-Fashioned Ice Cream Social for all ages. Sun. July 15 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at The Armour House and Gardens.  Enjoy ice cream tour the historic home and play old-fashioned games while listening to live music.   Details [HERE]

FREE LESSON: Beat the heat with a free introductory lesson, ice skating or ice hockey at either SkateNation Plus in Short Pump or Richmond Ice Zone in Midlothian.

FREE THEME PARK ADMISSION :  You can get a free unlimited admission  pass for your children ages 5 and younger for Busch Gardens Williamsburg.   It’s good through October 28th.   You must be a Virginia resident and sign up in advance.  Click [HERE] for the link to do so.

FREE MOVIES:   The City of Richmond will host free outdoor family movie nightsthroughout the summer, at a different city park each Friday night.   All movies start at sunset, approximately 8:30p.m. On  Fri. July 13:  “The Adventures of Tin Tin”/Holtchkiss Community Center, 701 E. Brookland Park Blvd.

FREE JAZZ: The Virginia Museum has free admission to it’s Jazz Cafe program every Thursday evening from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Upcoming performances include Quintessential Jazz Ensemble (7/12), Rudy Faulkner (7/19) and the LKB Trio (7/26).  Jazz Cafe and general VMFA Museum admission are always free.

FREE FOR ACTIVE MILITARY: Free annual passes to America’s National Parks (value $80) are now  available to members of the military and their families free of charge.  The pass allows entrance  to more than 2,000 national parks, wildlife refuges and other public lands. The free pass will be made available for activated members of the National Guard and Reserves but not to military veterans or retirees. Military personnel can get the passes by showing their military I.D at any national park or wildlife refuge that charges an entrance fee.

$1.00 MOVIES:      Regal Cinemas is once again offering $1 family movies on Tuesday and Wednesdays at 10a.m., starting June 19.  A portion of proceeds from the Summer Movie Express will be donated to the Will Rogers Institute.  Get the full movie schedule [HERE].

FREE CONCERTS:   Enjoy free concerts through the summer at Forest Hill Park near the Old Stone House.   Concerts are from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.  Bring a picnic dinner if you`d like.  The next concert is Sun. July 22 featuring the Ska sounds of 808.  Get a full concert schedule [HERE].

FREE ADMISSION: Enjoy free admission all year long  to The Virginia Historical Society,  with access to the museum galleries and research library. The museum is at 428 North Boulevard in Richmond.

FREE BOOKS:  Children can earn a free book by participating in Barnes and Nobles’ summer reading program.To earn a book, children in grades 1-6 have to read a total of eight books and complete a short reading journal by September 4, 2012.  Click [HERE] for more information or to register your child.

LOTS OF FREE STUFF: How about getting and giving stuff free? The Freecycle Network is made up of nearly five thousand groups and nearly 70-thousand members around the world who are getting and giving away stuff free. Membership is free It’s a great way to recycle, get rid of items you don’t want, and get things you do.
