HENRICO COUNTY, Va (WTVR) -- A day after a car crashed through Henrico's DaVita Dialysis Center and not only is cleanup still underway, but police said a woman injured in the crash has died.

Henrico Police said Barbara Carney-Clarke, 61, was in the lobby of the center when a car came crashing though the front of the building Monday around 10:30 a.m.

Lt. Linda Toney, with Henrico Police said a woman, who appeared to be in her 40's was driving the car and was not hurt after crashing through the clinic.  Two people in total were taken to the hospital.  One sustained minor injuries, but Carney-Clarke suffered life threatening injuries.  Police report she died Monday, soon after the accident.

Investigators said a crash team has been on scene at the clinic taking photos and measurements, in order to better understand exactly what happened.

"We are still in an active investigation at this point.  We have our crash team that's looking into whether or not there was a problem with the vehicle, if there was speeding involved and/or alcohol or drugs," said Lt. Toney.  "It's such an unfortunate situation, even though officers are trained to deal with this type of thing, it's one of those things you don't expect to happen."

The DaVita Dialysis center is located on the corner of Three Chopt and Eastridge Roads.  The building has been declared structurally sound, but until repairs are complete the patients who typically use the center are having to go to nearby clinics for treatment.

Authorities said the driver of the car has not been charged, but the investigation is still ongoing.
