Accident sends two to the hospital, forces lane closure

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) –  Two people were taken to the hospital Thursday morning, following an accident on 288 Northbound, about 8 miles south of Richmond.

According to Virginia State Police, the Ford Explorer they were in slid and flipped over along the highway. When CBS 6 crews arrived on scene, the SUV was in an upright position, resting against a jersey wall.

There is no word on the extent of their injuries, or what may have caused the SUV to roll over.

At about 7:30 Thursday morning, the left lane of 288 North, near the ramp from Hull Street Road, remained closed.
