DACULA, Georgia (WGCL) – Georgia Lottery officials presented a 67-year-old Georgia man with an oversized check Tuesday at the store where he purchased a winning jackpot ticket.
Stephen Hewitt won $500,800 in the June 23 Fantasy 5 drawing. Hewitt said he began playing Fantasy 5 three months ago.
“It feels pretty good,” said Hewitt. “I randomly picked numbers and kept playing them,” he said.
Hewitt said his lucky win comes at a great time, since he is battling cancer.
“I just finished radiation. I have a lot of medical bills to pay off,” said Hewitt.
