(WTVR) - Do you ever wonder why McDonald's burgers look different in their ads than at their restaurants? Isabel M. from Toronto went to a website created by McDonald's Canada, which allows customers to ask questions about their food.

She asked, "Why does your food look different in the advertising than what is in the store?"

Hope Bagozzi, the director of marketing for McDonald's Canada, showed us the process of creating a burger from scratch of how it would look like in an advertisement.  She revealed that it involved hours of food styling and some Photoshop enhancements.

The ingredients are lined up and pushed to the front to show what's in the burger.  Then a blowtorch is used to melt the cheese.  Finally, the burger undergoes some minor touchups in Photoshop.

Bagozzi says they use the same ingredients in the food styling process that are used in the store.  She also reveals that the reason why burgers in store are smaller is because they shrink as a result of the packaging.
