(WTVR) - The Virginia Beach Police Department says Bradley Colas can return to work Monday, almost three weeks after a prosecutor withdrew all charges against him.
The Virginian-Pilot says Colas spent three months in jail after being accused of attempted murder when he attacked volunteer firefighters trying to help him after a car crash on March 4 on the Eastern Shore.
He claimed he was seeing demons, but doctors say a bad reaction to an antibiotic called Biaxin caused his violent reaction against the firefighters.
Randy Singer, one of Colas' lawyers, told the Virginian-Pilot, "It's almost laughable that an antibiotic could cause a psychotic breakdown. We think it requires more warnings than are out there now."
