SPOTSYLVANIA COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) – Spotsylvania County detectives charged a man with sex crimes against a child. Investigators said 61-year-old Edward Vincent Zottoli met and befriended the 14-year-old who accused him of the crimes at church. Zottoli is charged with four counts of incident liberties with a child while in a custodial role and one count of forcible sodomy.

The teenage boy told investigators both he and his brother spent the night at Zottoli’s home earlier this week. There, the teen told detectives,  Zottoli asked him to sleep with him in his bed. Investigators said that when and where the sexual assault took place.

During an interview with detectives, Zottoli “made admissions that were consistent with the juvenile’s disclosure,” investigators said in a press release.
