OAKVILLE, MO (KTVI) – Police in Missouri say a woman who was arrested Tuesday morning with a “shake and bake” meth lab is the same woman who forced a South County Walmart to be evacuated after she was caught with meth.

The latest incident happened at the U Gas on Telegraph Road around 9:40 p.m. Monday night. St. Louis County officers responded to the U Gas after an employee called police about a suspicious woman on the station’s lot.

St. Louis County detectives say the woman was arrested again for having a “shake and bake” meth lab — that’s when meth is being produced in a bottle.

The 32 year old from Arnold, Mo. woman was arrested for the exact same thing just a few weeks ago in a Walmart store. That store had to be evacuated.

In that case, the suspect had stolen a purse and was filling it with cosmetics. But when they encountered the man and woman that had been detained, one of them noticed the soda bottle in the woman’s purse.

He knew from training that it was a portable meth lab, known as a “shake and bake” device.  It was actually cooking meth in the woman’s purse.

Police quickly brought in the fire department and the St. Louis County Drug Task Force to deal with the chemicals, which officers tell us often explode or catch fire in those small bottles.
