Snagajob eliminates at least 17 jobs in company

HENRICO, Va. (WTVR)—Snagajob, a Richmond based online job search and software company, confirmed that 17 jobs were cut on Monday and more could be eliminated.

The company, headquartered in Henrico County’s West End, eliminated employees who were part of a sales team that sold software and services to smaller business, confirmed Stacey Brucia a company spokesperson.

A total of 25 jobs could be eliminated, but the final total will depend upon possible placement of those employees within other Snagajob departments.

“The business is very healthy,” Shawn Boyer, the company’s founder and chief executive officer told the Richmond Times-Dispatch.

Brucia confirmed that sales are still growing and the company is still hiring for some jobs; that yes, the company is healthy.

She said that Snagajob had about 288 full-time equivalent jobs in the Richmond area as of Jan. 1, up from 141 in 2011. The company now has over 250 employees.
