COLLEGE PARK, MD. (WTVR) - A lot of rubbernecking on one part of the Capital Beltway up in Maryland Wednesday night but it wasn't a car accident causing delays.

Twitter exploded with reports and photos that a UFO had landed on the Beltway near College Park, Maryland.

Construction at Kenilworth Avenue already had traffic backed up, further escalating concerns from motorists that something big was going down.

However, concerns were finally put to rest after Maryland State Police at the McHenry Barrack confirmed that the aircraft seen on the Beltway was actually a military airplane being moved from West Virginia to Naval Air Station Patuxent River in Southern Maryland.

The plane is 82 feet long, 32 feet wide and 14 feet high. The X-46B is the same type of military vehicle that crashed earlier this week near Salisbury, Maryland.
