RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) – Richmond police are thanking the public for helping find a 64-year-old woman who went missing Wednesday night.

Officials said Edna R. Rodriguez moved to the area Monday — and suffers from the early stages of Alzheimer’s disease.

Police said a citizen spotted her in a parking lot at Bells and Commerce roads and  called 911. An officer found her and reunited her with her son.

Police had said Rodriguez visited area churches and had been last seen walking in the area of Six Points in the 700 block of Bancroft Avenue around 11 p.m. Wednesday night.

“The Department would like to thank members of the media and the community for their assistance finding Rodriguez,” the RPD stated in a news release.
