SPOTSLYVANIA, Va. (WTVR)—

The Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Office said they responded to the 3000 block of Outback Rd. for a report of illegal drug use on June 12, 2012 at approximately noon.

Two individuals fled the residence and other people were in the house. Despite the cloud of white smoke that deputies said escaped the residence, they said they entered the home secure the other occupants.

That’s when they noticed a chemical smell and something cooking on the stove.

The deputies also began to feel their skin burning.

The deputies said they secured three individuals, all who admitted to making and smoking methamphetamine.

Hazmat did an emergency decontamination, because all involved were exposed to possibly dangerous chemicals used during the methamphetamine cooking process.

Then the suspects and two deputies were transported to the hospital for exposure to the noxious chemicals found in the home.

Virginia State Police, Drug Enforcement Agency, Virginia Department of Emergency Management all responded to assist with the clean up, collection of evidence and decontamination of the residence.

All five suspects have been charged with manufacturing methamphetamine.

Four of the five suspects have been arrested—Erin Foster, Paul Andrew Lowe Jr., Sara Jane Reese, and Randolph Scott Rusk Jr.

A warrant is out for the fifth suspect—Tavis Reese.
