BEIRUT (CBS) - Parts of the capital city of Damascus are full of burned out buses and shattered windows.  Activists say it’s the worst violence in this area.

At least 20 people were killed in Saturday’s attack in the city of Deraa, where the uprising against President Bashar Assad began.

Video showed that the violence reportedly spread to the city of Homs.  UN observers released a video proving that.  It shows the aftermath of last week's reported massacre in the farming village of Quibair.  These pictures show buildings burned inside and out and walls riddled with bullet holes and strained with blood.

A local farmer says he watched as men in uniform shelled the houses and those loyal to the regime executed 78 people, including women and children.

The UN says there are conflicting accounts about the killings and that makes it more difficult to determine exactly what happened and who is responsible.
Some of the evidence is gone including the bodies.

UN spokeswoman Sausan Ghoshen says, "The more time that passes, it's more difficult to verify.  Especially in the Muslim world, they bury their dead immediately."

Syrian activists claim more than 13,000 people have been killed in Syria since the uprising began last March.
