WASHINGTON (WTVR) - About 200,000 girls gathered Satruday to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Girl Scouts on the National Mall on Saturday.

Organizers say it's their largest gathering in history and also took a lot of planning.  The Washington Post says the event cost $2 million.

According to the Girl Scouts website, performers included American Idol finalist Thia Megia, the Girl Scouts of Nassau County Chorus, The Voice finalist Erin Willett and "I Want To Rock The Mall" YouTube winner Dana Marie.

Girls from every state and all over the world came together for this monumental event.

They hope to set a Guinness World Record for having the largest group gathering.
