MECHANICSVILLE, Va. (WTVR) - Neighbors are worried after three recent fires, one of which nearly destroyed a portion of  the clubhouse at the Kings Charter neighborhood pool, in Mechanicsville.

It took five engines, a ladder truck and 25 firefighters about an hour to bring the 2 a.m. blaze under control.

This is the third recent fire in the Kings Charter neighborhood.

Many neighbors were just learning about another fire on April 24, which happened across from the clubhouse, and another fire reported around 11 p.m. Thursday.

Three hours later, the fire at the clubhouse fire was discovered.

"I think we have an issue out here," said resident Bob Maldoven. "The first thing I thought... about three  years ago we found evidence of two fires lit behind our house in the wetlands."

Hanover County Fire and EMS Battalion Chief Larry Snyder said the fires are concerning and that they're investigating the incidents.

"I just called my parents and told them to check their fire alarm to make sure everything is working on their sprinklers, cause they live right down the street, and it's a scary thought," said Bethany Weber, Concerned About Fires says >

The Hanover County Fire Marshal's Office asks anyone who has information about the recent blazes at Kings Charter to call Crime Solvers 804-780-1000 or the Fire Marshal's Office at 804-365-6195.
