HENRICO, Va. (WTVR)–A Henrico County Sheriff’s Deputy faces grand larceny charges after a detective’s investigation concluded that she conspired to steal goods and services.

Police sources say she was allegedly working in connection with an insider—possibly her boyfriend–at a local grocery store, purchasing meat at prices he lowered.

The deputy, Pamela Genie Lynch, age 32, has resigned after two and a half years as an employee of the sheriff’s department, according to Sheriff Mike Wade. Lynch was last assigned to jail operations.

Lieutenant Linda N. Toney confirmed that the crime occurred at the 11800 block of W. Broad Street, but would not confirm that is the Kroger located in the same block. Other law enforcement sources confirm that the crimes did occur at Short Pump’s newest Kroger.

The crimes occurred between May 5 and May 30, 2012. Lynch, of the 12000 block of Poplar Forest Drive, faces two counts of grand larceny.

There is a second suspect in the investigation.

Lt. Toney also confirmed that Robert Christopher Little, 33, has been charged with embezzlement after it was discovered that he was conspiring to steal goods and services.  She would not confirm a relationship between Little and Lynch.

However, the residence listed for Little is the same as Lynch–12000 block of Poplar Forest Drive.

Police sources said that Little worked at the meat department at Kroger and was adjusting the price of meat that was bought by Lynch.

Customer communications specialist Allison McGee confirmed that Little did work at Kroger, but is no longer an employee.

“No further comment can be made because this is an ongoing police investigation,” said Allison McGee, spokesperson for Kroger.
