CHESTERFIELD, Va. (WTVR)—A multi-vehicle accident shuts down Chippenham Parkway North, due to a driver under the influence of drugs, said police.

Virginia State Police responded to a three vehicle crash on Route 150 northbound just south of Hull Street in Chesterfield County, around 4 p.m. Sunday.

Police said the crash occurred when the driver of a 2001 Toyota Highlander struck the rear of a 2010 Kia Sol.

The driver of the Toyota Highlander, Johnnie McLemore Jr., 30, of Midlothian, was charged with driving under the influence of drugs (DUID).

After striking the Sol, the Toyota struck a 2004 Toyota Sienna, which caused the Sienna to run off the right side of the roadway.

The driver and a passenger in the KIA were not injured in the crash.

The driver and three juveniles in the Toyota Sienna suffered minor injuries and were transported by ambulance to Chippenham Medical Center, said police. A fourth juvenile was not injured.

Police said that everyone involved was wearing a safety belt or secured in a child restraint device.
