Teenagers may be at a higher risk for heart disease than ever before.

A new study by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention found as many as 50% of overweight or obese kids have at least one risk factor for heart disease.

The report also suggests teens with a normal weight are vulnerable as well if they do not stay active. Up to 37% of those teens had at least one risk.

In the study, the CDC tracked 3,400 teenagers between the ages of 12 and 19 across the United States.
