According to Career Builder seasonal job openings are expected to climb during the summer months. The study says a strong (economic) start to this year is having a positive effect on the job market.

The study surveyed 2,300 hiring managers and human resource professionals nationwide. In it’s annual Summer Job Forecast Career Builder expects spikes in industries such as hospitality, manufacturing, retail and finance.

One in three employers, or 29%, said they plan to take on seasonal workers, up from 21% last year and an average of 22% from 2008 to 2011, the survey said.

About 45% of manufacturing companies will be hiring, followed by hospitality (44%), retail (34%) and finance, at 31%.

The good news is that even though these jobs are considered seasonal, 71% of employers said they will consider keeping some hires on full time.
