RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) - Even with roughly $7-million in additional money from the city budget and state funding, Richmond Public Schools still have a budget shortfall.

The district  needs to find a way to make up nearly $10-million. School board members and Superintendent Dr. Yvonne Brandon say they're already working to try and decide where to make the cuts.

"We will have to do things differently. We are going to have to look at every resource we have and try to capitalize on those resources," says Dr. Brandon.

Dr. Brandon says she's still not sure how many school employees could be laid off as a result of budget cuts.

Richmond Public Schools have until June 1st to come up with a final budget plan.
