Women, dog escape early morning house fire

RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) - Two women and a dog escaped an early morning house fire in South Richmond. The fire at the home on East 36th Street started at 4:28 a.m. It took Richmond fire crews about 30 minutes to bring the fire under control.

The fire remains under investigation, according to Richmond Fire Lt. Robert Hagaman.

The Red Cross is assisting the people who lost their home.
