Powhatan victim identified in fatal crash

POWHATAN, Va. (WTVR)—Virginia State Police released the name of deceased driver and details in last night’s fatal vehicle crash.

Sgt. Thomas Molnar said that at 8:33 p.m., Virginia State Police responded to a reported single vehicle fatal crash on Route 711, Huguenot Trail near Route 1301, King William Woods Road in Powhatan County.

Police said that the crash occurred when the driver of a 1999 Toyota Tacoma, traveling westbound, ran off the right side of the roadway, striking a culvert.

The impact caused the vehicle to overturn and partially eject the driver, William H. Treseler Jr., 54, of Powhatan.

Police said that Treselr, who was not wearing his safety belt, died at the scene.
