CAROLINE COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) –  An Amtrak train struck a tractor trailer at a crossing in Caroline County Tuesday morning, according to Caroline County Fire and EMS Chief Jason Loftus . No injuries were reported in the morning accident, Loftus said.

The incident happened around 9:00 a.m. on Stonewall Jackson Road (Route 606).

The cause of the accident is under investigation.

An Amtrak spokeswoman told CBS 6 the train involved was #67 which left Boston last night. The train was able to continue to Richmond. In Richmond passengers boarded buses for their final destination, either Williamsburg or Newport News, she said.

Passengers with tickets for train #66, scheduled to leave Newport News tonight, will instead take a bus to the Richmond train station, before heading out on Amtrak.
