RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) - It’s not just President Obama’s visit  or Cinco de Mayo that has people who work at one Richmond Mexican restaurant excited.

They've learned a crew from "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" might drop by Saturday after the president’s speech.

Ryan Knause, the manager at Baja Bean Company, says he got a call from "The Daily Show" on Tuesday saying they were looking at his restaurant and another one in the city that does Cinco de Mayo celebrations.

They were chosen.

“I  thought it was a joke at first, of course, and then after talking to the guy, I realized he was legitimate,” said Knause.

He says "The Daily Show" crew will do a spin on the president's Richmond visit, that people are in town for the Cinco de Mayo celebrations and not for Obama’s speech.

Some patrons we spoke with say it's tough to compete with the president.

“I’ve been a huge fan of his since he ran in 2008. I actually volunteered back then and I was ecstatic when he won," said Julie Woodson.

“Virginia is kind of an important swing state, so I think it says a lot that he chose Richmond out of all the cities to come to”, said Piper Neddeniem, employee at Baja Bean Company.

Still, others are more excited about the comedy central crew coming to town.

“Because I don't really agree with President Obama's policies so I’d' rather have humor in my life and watch 'The Daily Show',” said patron Andrew Heare.

A spokesperson for Comedy Central tells CBS 6, "The Daily Show" segment being filmed Saturday, will air early next week. What’s more, Jon Stewart won’t be here, just a reporter and field producer.
