CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) - Chesterfield Police announced a second arrest in connection with a deadly shooting near the campus of Virginia State University.

Police arrested Khaliq H. Oliver, 19, of Stockleigh Drive, and charged him with conspiracy to commit murder and conspiracy to violate the drug control act, according to a press release from Chesterfield Police.

Oliver appeared by way of video conferencing before Judge Philip Daffron inside a Chesterfield County courtroom.  The suspect's family was also present inside the courtroom and became emotional, after seeing  Oliver dressed in his orange jail jumpsuit.  The judge ultimately denied Oliver bond based on the "nature of the charge."

Oliver is set to appear in court next on June 8, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. for an attorney hearing.  The suspect will appear again on July 11, 2012, at 8:30 a.m.
