RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) Richmond police said that city residents can expect many parking and traffic restrictions around the Siegel Center, in preparation for President Obama’s visit on Saturday afternoon.

Police said that from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, police will close down West Broad Street between Lombardy and Belvidere streets.

There will be additional intermittent street closures in the areas around the Siegel Center all afternoon Saturday.

Police warn residents who live or work nearby, or those who plan to attend the event to plan for plenty of time to get around.

Additionally, citizens should expect very high levels of pedestrian traffic in those neighborhoods as well as vehicle congestion.

The Richmond Police Department said that citizens not planning to attend the event should avoid the area.
