FRANKLIN, Va. (WTVR) – Police have charged a Franklin, Virginia man with animal cruelty after six puppies were discovered in his shed, reported affiliate station WTKR in Hampton Roads.  All six American Bulldog puppies have since died from or been put down due to Parvo, a contagious dog virus.

Police said Tyrece Scott kept the puppies in an 85-degree shed without food or water. Animal control was called to investigate after a neighbor complained about the smell and sounds of whining dogs.

Scott is due in court May 7, 2012.
