RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR)—Police need help tracking a suspect they said is armed and dangerous and who abandoned a 2003 BMW after police gave chase because of extreme speeding on Interstate 64 east.

Sgt. Thomas Molnar said that on last month a trooper attempted to stop the driver of a BMW for reckless driving at 93 miles-per-hour in a 55 mile-per-hour zone on Interstate 64 eastbound on the Shockoe Valley Bridge.

Police said that the suspect exited onto the interstate, onto Nine Mile Road and continued onto Creighton Road.

The driver evacuated the vehicle and fled on foot near the intersection of X Street and North 26th Street, said police. The driver fled on foot leaving the vehicle in drive where it came to rest in an adjacent yard.

Virginia State Police Trooper C. A. Keene pursued the suspect on foot, but eventually lost sight of the suspect. Next, the Richmond Police Department joined in the search with the use of a tracking canine unit.

Still, the suspect was not located.

Police searched the BMW and found a stolen Glock Model 22 .40 caliber handgun.

Police said also that they found photographs left in the vehicle that the trooper identified as the suspect.

The Department of Forensic Science analyzed the gun.

Police said that the suspect goes by the nickname “Pale” and is believed to frequent the Wickham Court area in the City of Richmond and the Colonial Apartment Complex in Henrico County.

“Pale” is considered armed and dangerous, said police. He is described as a black male, approximately 6 feet 2 inches tall, weighing 225 pounds and keeps a trimmed beard.
