RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) – Could a bigger rail line between Richmond and Norfolk become a reality?

The website Talking Points Memo states in an online article, despite federal funding being stripped from the project, the state is trying to come up with enough cash to keep the project alive.

Amtrak currently serves Washington D.C. and points north, but this extension would add a line between Richmond and Norfolk – at a cost of $114 million.

Earlier this year Governor Bob McDonnell touted the program, saying it should be up and running by the end of the year.
