PRINCE GEORGE COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) - Police in Prince George County are investigating a string of copper thefts.

Investigators say someone has stolen $14,000 worth of copper from a Dominion Virginia Power substation and two hotels in the county in the last two weeks.

Police tell CBS 6 someone actually hit the Dominion substation, which is under construction, twice.

Lt. Paul Burroughs with Prince George Police says he believes more than one person is responsible and that they are using a flatbed or pickup truck to move the large rolls of copper.

Anyone with information about the copper thefts is asked to call Prince George County Crime Solvers at 733-2777.
