NORFOLK, Va. (WTKR) – Two undercover Norfolk police officers shot at two men who police said tried to rob the officers Monday night. Norfolk police spokesperson Chris Amos said the officers were sitting in their unmarked police car in the parking lot of the McDonald’s at Campostella and Indian River Roads when the crime occurred.

Amos said just before 11:00 p.m., two men walked up to the officers and tried to rob them.  The officers grabbed their guns and opened fire.  One suspect was hit and is expected to recover in the hospital.  The other suspect ran away.

Police later arrested four people they believed to be involved in the crime. Those men include the two robbery suspects and two men in a getaway car.

The undercover officers were not hurt.
