CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) - Crews working to turn the old Cloverleaf Mall site into a new mixed-use development discovered more human remains on the Chesterfield County property, according to Garrett Hart with Chesterfield Economic Development.

Earlier this month crews discovered a human skull, arm and finger bones. It was determined those bones were part of an old family grave site. The land was a family farm before it became Cloverleaf Mall in the early 1970's.

Hart said in all  three sets of remains have been found and crews have uncovered what could become a fourth set. He said developers are working under a permit from the Virginia Department of Historic Resources and looking for more remains. Once all the remains are located they will be removed and formally interned in another place.

Hart said the family plot is on the southern end of the property and should not affect construction.
