RICHMOND, VA. (WTVR)  Police are investigating a double-shooting in the city’s north side, at the Richmond apartments.

Residents said that there had been reports of gunfire throughout the night, and then around 7:30 pm. the double-shooting occurred. The incident is not too far from the Newman Village Apartments, where 17-year-old Keona Johnson was fatally shot almost two weeks ago.

Police raced to the scene on Richmond’s north side and found two males suffering from gunshot wounds.  One man was grazed.

Police said the second man was found in the breezeway of a second floor apartment in the 3900 block of Chamberlayne Avenue.  He was taken away on a gurney with life-threatening injuries.

Since a lot of people were outside Monday evening, police are hoping for some help.

People believe the shooting is not connected to one they worked earlier Monday on the south side. Detectives were still on the scene late Monday night gathering information and looking for witnesses.
