RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) – United States District Judge James R. Spencer sentenced a drug dealer to 192 months in prison for his role in a Richmond-area heroin ring. In January, Christopher Harris, 38, of Richmond, pled guilty to one count of Conspiracy to Distribute and Possess with the Intent to Distribute Heroin, according to a press release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

The office said on May 17, 2011, Drug Enforcement Administration agents and Richmond Police officers searched a Hull Street Road apartment and found:

  • 900 grams of heroin packaged in brick form
  • a .50 caliber revolver
  • a .45 caliber pistol
  • a 12 gauge shotgun
  • a 20 ton hydraulic press used to turn powdered heroin into a brick form
  • various other items used to cut and package narcotics.

Harris was one of three men arrested and sentenced in this case. In March, Harris’s co-defendant, Walter Mitchell, Jr., was sentenced to 252 months for his role in the crime. On April 2, 2012, Mark Lawrence was sentenced to 132 months.
