MINERAL, Va. (WTVR) Capitol Records Nashville just announced that 3,000 free tickets will be released on Wednesday, April 18 for the “Alan Jackson: Music for Mineral” concert.

This decision comes after folks were livid when tickets went on sale for a concert they thought would be free.

The press release said that the event includes three options for tickets.

The first two options are Gold Circle, at $100, and Benefactor at $42.50. These tickets guarantee a reserved viewing location.

The third option is free and is General Admission access.

The business emphasized that one hundred percent of the net proceeds from the Gold Circle and Benefactor tickets will fund the Louisa Education Foundation (LEF) and be used to assist the county public schools in their rebuilding efforts as a result of the August 2011 earthquake.

Those who have already purchased Gold Circle and/or Benefactor tickets can choose to be refunded for their tickets through Friday, April 13 at http://www.ticketfly.com.

Tickets purchased through the Mineral, VA Town Hall office can be reimbursed on site starting next week.

The 3,000 free General Admission tickets will be available on a first-come-first serve basis on Wednesday, April 18 at http://www.ticketfly.com.

Eventful’s Demand it!™ service booking disclaimer limited the maximum attendance to 3,000 for this event.

In an effort to raise funds for LEF, tickets are being offered for sale in addition to the free tickets.

Capitol Nashville said, in a press release from the business, that they visited Mineral and saw the devastation from the August 2011 earthquake first hand, in particular the Louisa County High School.

Capitol Nashville said that they helped plan this fundraising event to help rebuild the school faster than their 4-year plan.

“Alan Jackson: Music For Mineral” Live Concert Event Presented by Smithfield will be held on Sunday, May 20 at 8:00 p.m. in the parking lot of Louisa County High School.

Donations to the Louisa Education Foundation (LEF) can also be made at http://www.louisaeducationfoundation.org/onlinegift.html.
