RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) - A New Jersey man in town on business bought a Mega Millions ticket worth $250,000, according to a press release from the Virginia Lottery.

Lottery officials said Manuel Santos Jr. bought tickets at the Henrico Chubby’s located at 6016 West Broad Street in Richmond.

Santos Jr. said he planned to give the tickets to his father. One of those tickets matched five numbers in Friday's historic $656 million Mega Millions drawing. Santos' ticket earned his dad a quarter million dollars.

Santos, who let the computer pick his numbers, said he learned he won when he gave the tickets to a clerk at another store to scan.

“The clerk’s eye’s widened,” he said.  That’s when he knew it was no ordinary ticket."

That ticket was one of five Virginia tickets to win $250,000 in that drawing, lottery officials said. The others were bought in Fredericksburg, North Tazewell, Vinton and Virginia Beach.

The winning numbers for Friday's drawing were 2-4-23-38-46 and the Mega Ball number was 23.
