ASHLAND, Va (WTVR)- One of the country’s most famous cable news personalities was in Ashland Wednesday night to talk a little politics.

James Carville spoke to students and others at Randolph-Macon College.  The Democratic strategist, known as the “Ragin’ Cajun,” is credited with helping Bill Clinton win the White House.

Wednesday he talked about the upcoming elections and the divided Congress.  We also asked him about the recent abortion ultrasound bill and the pressure on Governor Bob McDonnell to sign it into law.   “He was in a tight spot, so politically, I have a slight amount of sympathy for him,” Carville said.

Carville did offer some credit to Virginia, saying one thing the Commonwealth does well is finish public works project on time.
