HENRICO COUNTY, Va (WTVR) - Two painting contractors have been injured after a minivan crashed into the Krispy Kreme Donut Shop where they were working.

One painter was pinned between the building and the car. Both painters were taken to VCU Medical Center. Police tell our Tracy Sears that the minivan was traveling eastbound on West Broad Street when it turned left, went across the sidewalk and the grass and into the building.  The driver of the minivan has also been taken to the hospital.

No word on the extent of their injuries.

The building was scheduled for a grand re-opening tomorrow after a major renovation.

Now, the Krispy Kreme on West Broad Street, just west of Staples Mill Road, will have to delay.

Krispy Kreme's PR Manager Lafeea Wilson sent us this email just moments ago: "Due to the vehicular accident that occurred this morning at the Krispy Kreme in Richmond, VA, Krispy Kreme is delaying all re-opening activities planned this week at that location. Krispy Kreme will notify its fans of updates via Krispy Kreme on Facebook and email newsletters."
