RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR)- The Virginia Senate and House of Delegates have approved a version of the state budget. Just not the same version.

Each side passed a version, and rejected the amendments the other proposed. That means the budget will be negotiated by budget conferees, members of each chamber appointed to work out the details.

This is a standard practice in Virginia’s General Assembly.

Legislators will have to work quickly, though. Virginia’s biennial budget expires at the end of June, and Governor McDonnell has said that furloughs could begin a few weeks before that deadline.
