RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) – Folks who live in a neighborhood adjacent to Maymont, a historic 100-acre Victorian estate, are fed up with speeding drivers.

The speed limit in the area is 25 mph, but some drivers are not following the rules.

In fact, there has been so much speeding that some neighbors contacted the mayor’s office, which said the area is on the list for a speed study.

Richmond City Council's Marty Jewell has also put in a call to police to increase patrols.

Additionally, one resident's car was totaled after a drunk driver smashed into it, according to one woman who heard the crash.

The side mirror on another man's car was damaged when someone tried to make a u-turn and hit his car.

Neighbors blame some of the traffic on a nearby daycare and public beach, which Jewell said is a known party spot.
