HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) – Maurice “Moe” Jerralds made a brief appearance here in Henrico County Circuit Courtroom Wednesday morning. Jerralds went before Judge L.A. Harris Jr., and requested a bench trial. That means a judge, not a jury,  will decide the case.

Jerralds is a former cheer leading coach charged with 13 felony counts of indecent liberties with a minor. Two of the charges were filed one week ago when two alleged victims came forward with accusations against Jerralds. A total of five alleged victims have accused Jerralds of the crime over the years.

Back in 2001, he was tried and ultimately acquitted on sex charges involving minors, in both Henrico and Chesterfield counties. Jerralds next trial is scheduled for June 26.

All 13 charges against Jerralds will be tried together, as opposed to trying each charged separately, said Deputy Commonwealth’s Attorney Nancy Oglesby.
