RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) – Gas prices in Richmond, Virginia are increasing faster than the price of gas nationally, according to a new report from RichmondGasPrices.com.

The report indicated gas prices in Richmond rose 7.9 cents over the last week to put the average price for regular gas at $3.75 a gallon. Nationally, the average price is $3.80 a gallon, however prices rose just 4.3 cents per gallon in the last week.

According to the website, around a dozen local gas stations are charging between $3.87 and $3.99 a gallon. If analysts’ predictions are correct, some of those stations will start to charge more than $4.00 a gallon as early as this week.
